30th Annual David Samrick Golf for Kids Raises More Than $376,000 for Children and Families

It was a day to celebrate in every sense of the word. Under beautiful summer skies, golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and friends gathered at Egypt Valley Country Club for the 30th Annual David Samrick Golf for Kids, raising an incredible $376,530 to support the life-changing work of D.A. Blodgett – St. John’s.

The milestone anniversary was filled with laughter, meaningful connections, and a shared commitment to ensuring every child and family has the opportunity to thrive. The day’s generosity will help DABSJ provide critical services, including foster care, adoption, behavioral health, residential treatment, and family preservation programs that strengthen children and families throughout West Michigan.

A particularly memorable moment came as guests honored the legacy of David Samrick. Retired Mill Steel Vice Chairman and dear friend of David, Bill Buck, shared heartfelt stories that reflected David’s generosity, leadership, and deep belief in investing in children and families. His remarks reminded everyone that while David’s legacy began decades ago, its impact continues to grow through every life touched by this event.

For 30 years, Golf for Kids has brought together an extraordinary community united by compassion and purpose. We are profoundly grateful to our steadfast partners at Mill Steel and the entire Mill Steel team for their unwavering dedication to D.A. Blodgett – St. John’s. Your generosity is helping build stronger families, heal trauma, and create brighter futures for children throughout our community. Together, we are creating lasting change—one child, one family, and one act of generosity at a time.

DABSJ is inclusive and welcoming – from our team members, to the children we serve, to the families we license as foster parents. You could play a part in providing homes and hope for children who need a place to be themselves.
