D.A. Blodgett - St. John's has two Guilds: The St. John's Guild and the Marilyn J. Olson Guild. Both are always welcome to new members!
This Guild is a collection of women who coordinate, solicit for, and plan the annual Guild Ball. They actively assist in fund raising and meet 4 times throughout the year to help plan the event. The St. John's Guild also helps to make holidays special for kids and young Moms in DABSJ’s programs. They are responsible for providing birthday cakes and cards for the children in our residential treatment program as well as an annual Mardi Gras celebration for the entire Knapp Street campus. And the Guild makes sure each mother in the Young Moms Program feels appreciated with a card and gift to celebrate Mother’s Day.
In 2005, D.A. Blodgett - St. John’s established the Marilyn J. Olson Memorial Guild in memory of Marilyn Olson, a dedicated volunteer for over 30 years. At that time, D.A. Blodgett - St. John’s was discovering a growing need for support in many areas that would be suitable for volunteer assistance.
Examples of the types of things the MJO Guild does are:
Guild members volunteer as their schedules allow - sometimes between one and six hours per week. Meetings are held as necessary during the lunch hour where a light lunch is served.
