Join DABSJ for Giving Tuesday Now as we aid the staff and students on our residential campus by offering extra support, encouragement, and help to fulfill their needs during the COVID-19 crisis.
Here are some ways to help:
- Make a donation. We have had to cancel or reformat several fundraising events and anticipate a $100,000 donation shortfall in 2020 as a result. The cancelled Derby Day Charity Euchre Tournament on May 2nd would have helped raise $15,000 to support the kids in residential and emergency shelter care. If you are able, consider making an online gift to help fill this revenue gap. All gifts, small and large, are critical to keeping our essential programs available for children and families in our community.
- Send a note of encouragement. Draw a picture, type a message, or record a video - be as creative as you like! We want to share positive words of encouragement with our residential staff who are working day and night to care for the children we serve. Submit via email or on our Facebook page and they will be shared with our staff.
- Purchase items from our Amazon wish list These reflect needs of our residential program and will help them through the crisis. From Legos to crafts supplies or puzzles and games, these items may seem small but truly make a difference!
When children ages 5 to 17 who have experienced abuse or neglect enter our residential campus they are relying on our staff 24/7 to give them the best care possible. Our staff are essential in making sure the youth are safe, healthy, and getting the therapeutic and clinical support that they need. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted everyone at our agency, and we need you during this challenging time. Please consider donating financially, sending words of encouragement to staff, or donating via our Amazon wish list.
As always, thank you for your dedicated support of our agency.
