Kent County Community Mental Health

General Help/Community Services

Are you a family looking for counseling or support?

We help children and families who have experienced things like chronic trauma, issues with mental and emotional health, instability, and more. Learn about in-home counseling, early childhood support, programs that help families meet basic needs, and case management in our Family Preservation Services.

Does your child live with developmental disability?

We can help coordinate services that will help your family with Family Support Services.

Are you a foster parent, relative caregiver, adoptive parent, or providing kinship care?

You don’t have to walk this journey alone. We have several ways to support you:

  • View resources
  • Get specialized and targeted support with Enhanced Foster Care
  • Find community with the Adoptive Family Support Network – events, trainings, and peer support open to all adoptive, foster, kinship, and relative caregiver families

Are you a parent whose children are in foster care and you’re working toward reunification?

Reunification is our number one goal, and there are resources to help you in this journey.

  • Learn more about our Foster Care Supportive Visitation program, which empowers biological families by modeling and teaching a nurturing parenting approach.

DABSJ is inclusive and welcoming – from our team members, to the children we serve, to the families we license as foster parents. You could play a part in providing homes and hope for children who need a place to be themselves.
