Happy Volunteer Week!

It’s National Volunteer Week!

We are deeply grateful for the incredible volunteers who have given their time, talents, and hearts to support children and families over the past year. 💜 Some highlights of the amazing groups who’ve shown up with compassion and support include:

  • A Girl Scout troop built a bench and little free library for our campus garden
  • A team from UFP decorated for our campus holiday party
  • Bissell sent volunteers to turn our gym into Holiday Gift Drive headquarters
  • LaFleur Marketing, Amp Residential, Benchmark Mortgage, Mill Steel, GR Aseptic Manufacturing all sponsored as well as volunteered at the Holiday Gift Drive
  • A group from Studio C assembled furniture for the new Independent Living Plus house on campus
  • C2 group and FWF employees gave their time for some much-needed landscaping
  • A group from Michigan State University got busy in the kitchen with meal prepping for our campus programs
  • The Dominican Sisters sewed the sweetest stuffed animals for our children

Whether you painted, planted, wrapped, sorted, or simply showed up with a smile, you made a difference that extends far beyond what you can see. Thank you!

“Volunteering is at the very core of being a human. No one has made it through life without someone else’s help.”

DABSJ is inclusive and welcoming – from our team members, to the children we serve, to the families we license as foster parents. You could play a part in providing homes and hope for children who need a place to be themselves.
