February 12, 2019 - Grand Rapids, Mich. – D.A. Blodgett – St. John’s is pleased to announce Kris Denny has been hired as Director of Residential Services. Kris brings 17 years of experience working with children and families in various capacities. In announcing his appointment, Susan Conrad, Chief Programs Officer said, “Kris is exactly the leader we need in our children’s residential treatment division and organization right now, and his blend of theoretical and practical knowledge in behavioral health programming, and support to kids and families will be an incredible asset. We can’t wait for him to get started.”
In his most recent role, he served as a Senior Manager with University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, and trained social workers in Brief Strategic Family Therapy across the country, in Europe and Hong Kong, and most notably partnering with the New York City Administration for Children's Services. The city of New York began a multimillion dollar initiative to improve the services being offered to children and families that were involved with the Administration for Children's Services by bringing in evidence based models. Kris served as coordinator for all New York City programs. Prior to that position he served as a Program Director at Crosswinds Youth Services in Florida and began his career as a therapist for children in foster care.
Kris received both his bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Central Florida.
