Over the last 130 years, we’ve grown, and today we have more than 15 programs, addressing a wide range of complex needs for kids and families. We’ve set the standard for the work we do, and we have incredible success stories as proof.
And yet…
For as much as we’ve accomplished, the need keeps growing.

CAMPAIGN GOAL: $10 MILLION
We need your help. You see, this is about more than a building. It’s about coming together for neglected and vulnerable kids. It’s about strengthening families — the fabric of our community. And it’s about doing what absolutely needs to be done.
THE IMPACT
What the Together for Kids Campaign Makes Possible:
D.A. Blodgett - St. John's has secured land on Dean Lake Road, expanding our Knapp Campus to incorporate all agency programs and services.
Build a multi-use facility, consolidate our campuses, and further our mission.
Increase our impact by doubling the number of clients and families we are able to serve over the next 20 years.
Boost collaboration by integrating programs and facilities to provide the most seamless, highest-quality care possible to children and families.
Saves $2 million in operating costs over 20 years.
THE NEED
Children are physically, emotionally, and intellectually dependent on those who raise them. That’s a fact. But what happens when parents are unable to provide for the well being of their children? The fallout is heartbreaking. We know because we see the unforgiving reality every day.
1,800 cases
More than 1,800 cases of abuse or neglect were confirmed in Kent County last year.
30%
Child abuse and neglect in Kent County has increased by 30% since 2012.

THE OPPORTUNITY
At D.A. Blodgett – St. John’s, our programs are spread across three locations — on Knapp, Leonard, and Fuller Streets in Northeast GR. For years, we’ve made it work, but the time has come for improvement.
• Space is extremely limited, especially in our on-campus school.
• We lack a multipurpose center for the kids for fitness, recreation, and performing arts.
• We do not have adequate space for a centralized medical clinic.
• Heating and cooling in our old buildings is inefficient and costly.
In order to serve kids and families the best we possibly can, we need a single physical space that is integrated, responsive, and exceptional, one that matches our standard for what these children need and deserve. With your generous support, we can come together for kids.
