Young Moms Program
Mentoring program for girls who are pregnant or parenting up to age 25.
Formerly Sisters in Support, our Young Moms Program matches a young woman in their teens or early 20’s, who is either pregnant, or parenting one or more children, with a mentor. The young moms we work with are from various family backgrounds and living situations such as living on their own, in foster care, living with their significant other, living with a parent, etc.
- A mentor will spend 6-8 hours a month providing support and encouragement.
- Your mentor will help you understand pregnancy, parenting, and child development.
- Your mentor will encourage you as you pursue an education, look for a job, and form healthy relationships.
- You will set goals with your mentor and social worker and complete them during your match.
Each young mom participates in the program voluntarily. Once a mentor and a young mom are matched, the assigned Social Worker will set-up a meeting with all parties to collectively develop a list of goals that will be focused on through the duration of the match based on the mom’s needs.
