Child and Adolescence Programs
The Children’s Home specializes in the treatment of young children, ages 6-12. We strive to create a healthy family atmosphere in homes that prepare children for pre-adoptive homes or to return to rehabilitated families. Licensed master’s level therapists work with each child individually. They provide pre-placement family therapy when appropriate. Our therapists have specialized trainings in play and art therapy, trauma informed treatment, reactive attachment disorder and work effectively with sexually reactive children.
The Adolescent Program serves youth, ages 13-18, and focuses on healing past trauma, developing a healthy identity, learning independent living skills, and preparing youth for permanent placements. Boys and girls live in separate houses, and in most cases, have single bedrooms that reflect their unique tastes and personalities. Youth work with a licensed master’s level therapist with specialized training's that may include substance abuse treatment, trauma informed treatment, seeking safety, motivational interviewing, and TF-CBT.
Children receive intensive individual therapy and group therapy with therapists using:
- Play therapy
- Art therapy
- Sensory Integration
