Child and Adolescence Programs
This small, open residential program specializes in the treatment of young children, ages 6-12. Boys and girls live in a healthy family-like atmosphere in homes that prepare them for pre-adoptive homes, foster homes or to return to rehabilitated families.
The focus of the Adolescent Program is on healing past trauma; developing a healthy identity; learning independent living skills; developing executive, language processing, emotional regulation, cognitive flexibility and social thinking skills; and preparing for permanent placements.
Children receive intensive individual therapy and group therapy with therapists using:
- Play therapy
- Art therapy
- Sensory Integration
Licensed therapists work with each child individually. They provide family therapy when appropriate. Each therapist is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing with specialized training in sensory integration, reactive attachment, and child sexual abuse. They work effectively with sexually reactive children. The therapist-to-child ratio is 1:8
