Michelle, Trajon's mom, bravely shares the story of the emotional roller coaster that they voyaged with help from a dedicated team of DABSJ social workers who never gave up on Trajon.
Read the storyThe residential division at DABSJ has always been successful, as evidenced in the thousands of kids who have been helped over the years, but we are evolving to meet the changing needs of the children we serve. We want to be a program that works together as a team using one program model and providing the best care possible while keeping youth and staff safe. We want youth to have every opportunity to be successful, which requires us to provide the most impactful, best services. Because of this, we have chosen a new model that will help us do exactly that.
The Sanctuary Model, proven to result in high staff and youth satisfaction, decrease injuries, and improve overall outcomes is being implemented. We look forward to seeing this new evidence-based, trauma-informed program in action so we can help the kids we serve in the best way possible.
Our residential treatment program in an open program setting. We treat young people with emotional, behavioral and psychiatric problems, building on kids’ strengths and guiding them toward higher levels of functioning. The goal of treatment is to enable children to maintain stable relationships in a family setting.
